Garden Visits

Status:Active, open to new members
When: Various dates
Venue: Contact Group Coordinator
Cost: Garden admission costs

We are a group that meet on an ad hoc basis, no more than half a dozen times a year and preferably in good weather. In 2021, due largely to the pandemic, we only visited Beeleigh Abbey, Green Island and Hyde Hall a couple of times. In previous years we have visited Markshall Arboretum, Beth Chatto’s Garden, Feeringbury Gardens and some private gardens who operate under the umbrella of the NGS.

We do rely on some of our members to be kind enough to drive us to the various locations, sharing petrol costs. Hiring minibuses and coaches can be a headache to fill and are rather expensive.

Beth Chatto’s nursery, Feeringbury, Ulting Wick, The Hylands Estate, The Gibberd Garden, Barnards Farm and Hyde Hall are just some of the possibilities for the forthcoming year.

The day of the week we tend to visit is a Friday; however, it is very dependent upon when some of the above gardens are actually open.
